Gabions generally take the form of enclosed bodies consisting of welded galvanised metal mats, and are designed to be filled with materials which are resistant to frost, weathering and pressure. Depending on the colour and geometry required, the filler used is normally a hard stone.

Gabion-based systems are characterised by a high degree of adaptability to project-specific structural and geometric requirements, and represent a cost-effective, semi-natural solution. They can be used on embankments with gradients of up to 90°.

These noise protection gabions consist of a multi-chamber basket system with an internal noise protection core, and correspond with road-side noise protection regulation ZTV – Lsw 06. The multi-chamber basket system can be equipped with a variety of precisely calculated filling materials which facilitate the use of the gabions as either noise reduction or noise reflection systems.

The KB block system sees moulded concrete blocks of various types placed on top of one another and anchored in layers using a structurally predefined geogrid.

The system can be used on embankments with gradients of up to 90°.
